Photography for Construction Sites, Infrastructure Construction and Litigation Evidence
Concrete pours for commercial bank construction. The paving of airport runways. Verrazano Bridge renovation, pile driving at Newark Liberty International Airport. Reconstruction of the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Infrastructure Construction projects including The Portal North Bridge, over the Hackensack River, Kearny, NJ 2023- 2024, renovation of the State Attorney Generals Building, Brooklyn, 2020 to 2023, High Point Tower, Bronx NY,  and numerous New York City Parks projects.  These are just some of the construction photos in Ted DeCagna’s extensive portfolio of construction photography and has made him one of the premier New York and New Jersey construction photographers —and he’s available to shoot your next project.

Because of the depth and breadth of his experience as a professional photographer, Ted has an unusual capacity for recognizing, framing and capturing the very best angles and compositions to make a photo effective and exciting. His construction photography is used for construction documentation, marketing materials, ads and websites, and as evidence photography in lawsuits. Here are a few reasons why Ted DeCagna is an ideal choice for your construction photography needs anywhere in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Ted is a premier New York Construction Photographer and and veteran New Jersey Construction Photographer

After the devastation along the eastern seaboard wrought by Hurricane Sandy, Ted was commissioned by a major New Jersey building contractor to document the destruction of several Jersey Shore boardwalks. These photos were then featured in a company brochure demonstrating how their work on the Asbury Park boardwalk resulted in a much more stable structure that suffered minimal damage compared to many other New Jersey boardwalks (including the famous Seaside Heights and Belmar boardwalks) that were completely decimated. The message conveying this company’s superior design and construction methods were made dramatically clear by this powerfully effective use of comparison photography.

Going to great lengths—and heights—to capture the shot

No construction environment is off limits for Ted DeCagna. He has climbed seven-story gantry crane ladders at a major construction site in Port Newark.

has been hoisted 90 feet into the air on a lift several times in order to capture construction sites or equipment at a dramatic angle. He has shot the pile driving of oil barge pier steel piles measuring four feet in diameter.

And he photographed a golf course bridge installation requiring the use of a 20-ton crane swinging parts of the bridge into place like a giant Lego set.

“I love the excitement of stepping into the often dirty and gritty environment of a construction site and capturing a vibrant construction photo,” says Ted.

The results show that when a photographer loves what he does, great photography can be achieved.

Photography for Litigation and Lawsuit Evidence
The last four photos above showcase Ted DeCagna’s skills as an experienced evidence photographer. Ted’s experience shooting construction sites has led him to evidence photography for use in lawsuits. He can provide oversized professional color prints to be used at trial as well. If you need a litigation photographer that can make a favorable impact on your case, Ted DeCagna is can deliver influential photos that shine the spotlight on your evidence.

Case in point: Ted was commissioned by a major New Jersey law firm to shoot photography for attorneys who were representing a commercial property owner; the plaintiff, a major SAT prep company, was suing a window manufacturer for defective product. Ted photographed 390 defective windows in a new building in Princeton, NJ; the defective window photos were used as photographic evidence in the law suit. Ted was careful to capture the defects in the windows by using very unique angles and special time exposures at both day and night, which clearly showed very unusual defects in the windows.
